Rebed and repoint ridge caps

Failing ridge caps let water in. We remove the compromised old bedding entirely, rebed the caps securely in fresh cement, and apply a flexible pointing finish to accommodate natural movement.

Rebed and repoint ridge caps

Rebedded. Repointed. Secure.

Ridge caps are the critical seal at the peak of your roof. Over time, the original rigid mortar holding them in place naturally breaks down, cracks, and falls away. This allows the caps to move, leaving your roof cavity vulnerable to water ingress and pest intrusion.

Old ridge bedding is removed. The caps are rebedded in fresh cement, then repointed with a flexible finish selected to suit the tile colour.

Our Approach

We do not take shortcuts. We do not simply point over old, failing cement. If the bedding is loose, the only proper fix is to lift the caps and start fresh. The flexible pointing compound we use accommodates the natural thermal expansion and contraction of the roof, helping the seal last.

The process

  • Removal: We lift the ridge caps and completely remove the deteriorated old cement bedding.
  • Rebedding: The caps are precisely aligned and secured back into place using fresh, strong cement.
  • Repointing: A quality flexible pointing finish is applied and colour matched to suit your existing tiles.
